The first objective of this effort is to place Chile’s current constituent process in historical perspective in light of the processes that led to the Constitution of 1833 and the Constitution of 1925. The second is to place it in comparative perspective through the study of relatively recent constituent processes that have taken place under democracy within Latin America and elsewhere, specifically the cases of Colombia (1991) and Bolivia (2009) in Latin America, and Finland (2000) and Iceland (2010-2011) in Europe.
