The general objective of this research project was to analyze how the logics of production of large-scale copper mining and agricultural exportation have transformed the ways of life and social relationships of the people of Choapa Valley. This study focused on two aspects of the valley’s reality. The first was the way in which the inhabitants’ identities and imaginaries are configured in relation to the new logics of agro-mining production. The second was centered on social relationships between new and established stakeholders who share the territory and their forms of cooperation and conflict.
