Coloquio Conflictos de la Memoria y DDHH
Exposición de Patricia Purtscher: Colonia Amnesia and Politics of Resistance – Viernes 15 de enero a las 16 hrs en el Museo de la Memoria y DDHH (Av. Matucana 501, Santiago)
The Swiss public as well as official representatives of Switzerland mostly depict Switzerland as an outsider of colonialism, which is correspondingly not subjected to the postcolonial conditions that characterize the former European metropoles. This view is constantly challenged by people of colour and anti-racist activists who point to the persistent and long-standing traditions of racism in the country. Recently, it has also been questioned by a growing community of researchers who started examining Swiss entanglements with colonialism.
